TaskFreak! open source project management web application

TaskFreak has been online since September 2005. The original web application is quite old, but still pretty popular, with just other 100,000 downloads from the official source only.

Almost 5 years later, it's time to get a new version. Technology have improved, and so are the way computers, mobile devices and web applications are used. So there has been a lot of reading, a lot of thinking, and now decisions have been made.

The "original" version is now currently in version 0.6.3. It's pretty stable... And although it's old, it still works for many of us.

While developing a brand new version, based on a brand new MVC framework, it appeared that a somewhat simplier version was needed for two reasons :

1. Developing a full featured version from scratch takes time
2. I needed a simple tool to keep track of the time spent on my other projects

So as usual it started out as a personal project, and now a Time Tracking version is being released.

This specific and simple version of TaskFreak! helps also testing the framework, so chances of getting a more stable framework for the full feature version are increased.

And finally, the final version will be called "enterprise"... Just a codename that is supposed to show it is serious stuff. The name might change later if a better one is found.

Along with all these news, a new website had to be build, and there it is. Enjoy.
